Igbo Language School

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has indicated that Igbo language will be extinct by 2025 if nothing is done to reverse the trend by its speakers. The NINCANS Igbo Language School was established in 2024 to mitigate this threat of Igbo Language extinction. The objective of the NINCANS Igbo Language School is to promote and preserve Igbo Language, Arts and Culture among children and youth as well as other residents of Northern Saskatchewan community who are interested in learning the Igbo language.

Class Schedule and Curriculum

The Igbo Language School, Prince Albert, operates in a hybrid fashion every other Saturday for two hours from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students can attend classes in person or virtually.
